October is domestic violence awareness month and we are so grateful to be a part of spreading awareness throughout the Ozarks. We are teaming up with the Harmony House during their iCare Campaign in October to raise donations for the survivors of domestic violence.
A little about the charity and iCare Campaign:
The mission of Harmony House is to provide shelter, advocacy and education to survivors of domestic violence and promote the principle that all individuals have the right to a life free of abuse.
This mission is supported by four agency goals:
- To provide short-term emergency protective shelter for survivors of domestic violence.
- To help survivors of domestic violence break the cycle of abuse through programs of education, support, referral and advocacy.
- To disseminate information to the community that promotes understanding about the factors involved in domestic violence, its prevalence, causes, patterns and prevention.
- To advocate for changes that will provide the opportunity for a lifestyle free of domestic violence for all people.

What we are doing to help:
Throughout the month of October we will be collecting donations to help support the iCare campaign in various ways- one being our “Movie in the Park” night at Rutledge-Wilson Farm on October 22nd from 6-9 PM. This will be an all ages event with two movie features (The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and Halloweentown), a corn maze, hayrides, food trucks, games, and activities. We will also be selling Halloween t-shirts throughout the month of October. All proceeds will go to the cause. Don’t forget to bring chairs and blankets to sit on!
There will be two food trucks present also for your enjoyment:
